Networking To Help Children: Creating Community Through Connection, Compassion

Written by Lori Griffith

David Chirico has always had a heart for helping children. Guided by his passion for giving back and his natural ability to connect people, he took a simple but powerful idea of using networking as a tool for good, and turned it into a thriving nonprofit that’s changing lives across Palm Beach County and beyond.

David Chirico, founder of the nonprofit Networking To Help Children, works to transform lives by offering visibility, financial support, and strategic partnerships to small organizations making a big difference.

Founded in 2014, Networking To Help Children (NTHC) was born out of Chirico’s desire to make a more substantial impact in his community. "Our sweet spot is with the grassroots organizations that are doing amazing work in our communities but do not necessarily have the resources to grow their missions," says Chirico.

Harnessing the power of locals helping locals, NTHC brings people together at monthly networking events hosted at local establishments. These gatherings are more than just mixers; they’re purposeful, community-driven fundraisers. With a $20 admission, guests enjoy small bites and two raffle tickets for prizes generously donated by area businesses, all while connecting with like-minded professionals and supporting a local cause.

In 2016, NTHC achieved its 501(c)(3) non-profit status. Since then, the organization has raised and donated close to $1 million to nonprofits that serve children in Palm Beach County. It’s a milestone that Chirico is proud of, and a testament to what’s possible when a community comes together with purpose.

NTHC’s vision is to create a collaborative ecosystem, one where non-profits that serve children and families are equipped with the tools, resources, and relationships they need to expand their missions and transform lives. Through networking, NTHC helps build that foundation by offering visibility, financial support, and strategic partnerships to small but mighty organizations making a big difference.

Nonprofits wishing to be considered for a grant must go through a vetting process to ensure alignment with NTHC’s mission. Eligible organizations must be registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits located in Florida with an operating budget under $2 million.

Some of the impactful organizations supported by NTHC include Chasin a Dream Foundation, Bella’s Angels, Speak Up for Kids, Our Sister’s Place, Stomp the Bullying, Unbridled Paths, and Xcel Florida, each one committed to uplifting children and families in meaningful ways.

As NTHC continues to grow, David Chirico has his sights set on expansion – both nationally and even internationally – spreading the model of community-based giving and purposeful networking far beyond Florida.

"We are committed to connecting and uplifting nonprofi ts that support children and families," Chirico says. "By using the power of networking, we’re creating a community of collaboration, growth, and shared resources."
