Jupiter is renowned for its exceptional golf courses, offering a range of options for enthusiasts seeking both public and private experiences. As a former Penn State golfer who later competed on various mini-tours, I’ve had the privilege of exploring many of these courses firsthand.
For those seeking public courses, Abacoa Golf Club stands out. Designed by Joe Lee, this 18-hole, par-72 course features rolling fairways and strategically placed water hazards, catering to golfers of all skill levels. Its pristine conditions and welcoming atmosphere make it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Abacoa’s driving range and putting green are often busy and you will often see pros at various levels honing their games.
Another notable public course is Jupiter Dunes Golf Club. This 18-hole, par-3 course with the nickname “The Little Monster” is a ton of fun yet will challenge golfers of all skill levels if the winds are up. Situated by the ocean on one of Jupiter’s natural estuaries, it offers picturesque views and a unique golfing environment.
On the private side, The Club at Admirals Cove offers a luxurious experience with 45 holes of golf, including the 18-hole East Course and three 9-hole courses at the Golf Village. Designed by Robert von Hagge, these courses provide diverse challenges amidst scenic waterways and lush landscapes. Admiral’s Cove has hosted various tournaments, including local U.S. Open Qualifiers.
Another prestigious private club is The Bear’s Club, founded by Jack Nicklaus in 1999. This exclusive club features an 18-hole, par-72 championship course that stretches 7,164 yards over gently rolling terrain, offering a challenging yet rewarding experience for its members. Right next door to the Bear’s Club is Trump National Golf Club which is a premier private golf club offering world-class amenities and an award-winning 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. Spanning over 7,500 yards, the par-72 course features deep revetted bunkers, a unique island green, and multiple tee placements to accommodate players of all skill levels.
Located on the west side of town, Jupiter Country Club presents an 18-hole Greg Norman Signature Course. With yardage ranging from 5,289 to 7,259 yards, it accommodates players of varying abilities. The club also boasts a comprehensive practice facility.
In summary, Jupiter offers a rich tapestry of golfing options, from accessible public courses to exclusive private clubs, catering to a wide spectrum of golfers seeking quality and variety in their playing experiences.
