Nearly two decades ago, Rose Regan began redefining the way she connected with her clients as an aesthetician. She was training under Ellen Sackoff, a former dancer and founder of the famous Cornelia Spa at the Surrey Hotel in New York City. Sackoff told Regan that the best skin and body treatments went beyond technical skill.

“She said it’s like performing a dance, and it really is,” Regan said. “And ever since she said that to me, it just stuck with me.”

Regan doesn’t do this magic alone. Her wellness therapist is Sharon Luongo, and Alexandria Stalter, “studio coordinator and brand experience curator.”

At The Charlotte Skin Studio in Tequesta, Regan makes sure that every fluid move she makes connects with the music in the background. “The feeling in the room and the energy you give the person is what matters most.”

And indeed, the positive energy flowing through The Charlotte Skin Studio is tangible. Just ask customer Alison Berkery.

“It’s just the vibration, it’s just the energy,” Berkery said. “Facial. Massage. Whatever I can get. I like staying here as many hours as I can.”

“We treat the person as a whole,” Regan emphasized. “It’s not just about services, but about understanding individual needs. ‘What are you doing at home? What’s your stress level? Are you moving? How are you eating?’”

The Charlotte Skin Studio has many unique facial offerings, including Rose’s signature sculptural lifting facial that includes a buccal treatment.

Body treatments include the traditional massage, as well as lymphatic drainage, and other special offerings, with such vaulted names as Terra Verde and State of Grace.

Regan doesn’t do this magic alone. Her wellness therapist is Sharon Luongo, and then there is Alexandria Stalter, “studio coordinator and brand experience curator.” She has dedicated hundreds of hours to the website and works on setting the Studio apart from competitors.

“We have a lot of unique add-ons available for our clients; we want each client to make their treatment fully customizable and unique for their own individual needs,” Stalter said.

Luongo explains, “We’re working naturally here with people to maintain long-term health and wellness.”

The Studio space features carefully curated design elements, including a mural from local artist Sarah Sukaina. A beautiful chandelier that glows from the exterior at night. And a treatment table in the facial room that has been nicknamed “the cloud” for its exceptional comfort.

There are many unique wellness products available for purchase at The Charlotte. Each curated from founder brands with a personal and heartfelt story to tell.

For example, the brand Maison d’ETTO was inspired by Brianna Lipovsky’s love for riding horses. Each scent in the line tells a story and is meant to create a deeper connection beyond just smelling good.

The brand “LESSE,” inspired by Neada Deters after struggling with chronic eczema her whole life, created the line with the mindset that “less is more.” The line is truly organic and formulated with some of Australia’s natural botanicals.

Regan, Luongo and Stalter all met while working together at a prestigious members-only golf club in the heart of Jupiter.

Regan struggled with the idea that she was not able to work with locals, as she had just purchased a home in Tequesta. One night, she was driving down the Cypress Drive strip and saw a dim light on in one of the units. To her surprise, she saw that the unit was for rent, and she knew this would be the start of her new path.

The seeds of The Charlotte Skin Studio were planted during a pivotal moment in Regan’s life shortly after the pandemic. “I went through a divorce, and all I wanted to do was be with my family in Connecticut.”

While staying with her niece during the summer of 2023, she found inspiration in an unlikely source: her niece’s newborn daughter, Charlotte. “She inspired me to create something special.”

The Studio has been open for about a year now. Her professional journey wasn’t linear. After working as a purchasing manager in corporate America, Regan pivoted to esthetics around 2005. “It wasn’t for me,” she declares. “I really wanted to help people.”

Regan had studied fashion at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City as a young woman and it provided an unexpected foundation for her work now, she said.

The Charlotte Skin Studio’s community-driven approach extends beyond their treatments. They host community events, collaborate with local businesses on Cypress Drive, and help to create a sense of belonging for the entire neighborhood.

It wasn’t easy leaving behind a steady clientele at their former spa and opening up a new business one year ago, but Regan, Luongo and Stalter are now finding The Charlotte Skin Studio flourishing.

Adversity only strengthened the resolve of the three women.

“We are just going to rise above. We are going to do our job and take care of our people,” Regan said. “We all came together, and it all happened for a reason.”

The Charlotte Skin Studio is no longer the best-kept secret in the Jupiter area, Berkery said.

During the interview, a former client came into The Studio, thrilled she had found Regan again. “I live in New York City. She is the best of the best. I mean, like, there are people and then there’s Rose. She’s incredible,” she said.
