How to Reconnect with Your Body After the Holidays

Written By Rose Regan

January often feels like an abrupt exhale after a season of whirlwind festivities.

We’ve eaten, indulged, stretched our limits and suddenly our body is asking for attention, replenishment and repair.

However, this is not a month to punish the body. Instead, it’s a time to return to presence, nourishment and to pay attention to what your body has been communicating beneath the noise.

So where to begin? Prioritizing well-being is the first step.

The second step is to have a consultation with a Wellness Therapist who is fully present with you. Someone who combines clinical expertise with intuitive, connected care. You want to be in a space where you and your system feel both supported and understood.

The third step is to choose a bespoke treatment plan that will benefit your unique self.

Below are a few RESET RITUALS I recommend to my clients. They are intentionally designed to:

● calm the mind

● reduce inflammation

● exfoliate & clear stagnation

● support systemic restoration

● quiet the “fight or flight’” stress response that’s been working overtime

1. DR. VODDER’S MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE (MLD)

One of the most essential resets for January. An intentionally gentle light touch therapy that calms the nervous system and encourages healing and repair.

After holiday indulgence, the body’s natural detox pathways slow and stagnate.

MLD encourages the movement of excess fluid, helps reduce bloating & fatigue, and supports the immune response. After a session, you should feel lighter and clearer. To get the best results, a series of 5 consecutive treatments is highly recommended.

2. DRY BRUSHING

Invigorating, exfoliating, detoxifying! This ancient Ayurvedic ritual is a perfect pre-shower practice. Gentle brush strokes awaken circulation, buff away dry skin, and prepare the body to absorb oxygen and hydration more effectively.

3. CBD BODY SCRUB

Ideal for combating that heavy or sluggish post-holiday feeling. Detoxifying with CBD mineral-rich salt minerals draws out toxins while CBD soothes sore muscles and inflammation.

4. AROMA REFLEX THERAPY

This modality combines Aromatherapy with the art of Body Reflexology. Aromatherapy oils are derived from plant extracts and each oil can affect the body physiologically and emotionally. Slow, intentional touch helps dissolve deep stress patterns returning the nervous system back into balance.

This year, take the time to listen to your body and give it the attention it deserves. Instead of chasing a “new” you honor the true you because feeling good is about BEING your true self.
